1. What is an Inverter Generator?
expand_less
expand_more

Inverter generators output produce a pure, clean AC sine wave.HEOMAITO inverters AC measure at less than 3% THD. That is more stable than most power companies can achieve on a mass scale.

Inverter generators also run quieter with the same load, longer on the same amount of fuel, and power direct AC circuit boards in sensitive items without worry.

2. What is the THD for our generators?
expand_less
expand_more
All HEOMAITO inverter generator's THD values are less than 3%. The inverter generator will output an industry standard total harmonic distortion (THD) rating of about 12%-20% depending on load applied. They will produce a sine wave, not a modified or square wave. If you have a specific item that requires less than 3% THD, we recommend purchasing a HEOMAITO Inverter Generator that provides a less than 3% THD.
3. Do your electric start generators come with a battery?
expand_less
expand_more

1. Do your generators used indoors or in an enclosed area like a closed garage?
expand_less
expand_more
DO NOT run HEOMAITO generator inside homes, garages, basements, crawlspaces, sheds, or other partially enclosed spaces, even when using fans or opening doors and windows for ventilation. All HEOMAITO generators come with Automatic CO Protection-With CO Alert technology, you can help protect you and your family by automatically shutting down your generator if unsafe levels of carbon monoxide are detected.
2. How does high altitude affect generator operation, and what measures can HEOMAITO provide to address potential issues?
expand_less
expand_more
High altitude conditions may lead to challenges such as hard starting, increased fuel consumption, and spark plug fouling. To address high-altitude operation, HEOMAITO can provide a high-altitude carburetor main jet. Information on the alternative main jet and installation instructions can be obtained by contacting Customer Support.
3. What are the temperature ranges for operation of HEOMAITO generator?
expand_less
expand_more
This product is designed and rated for continuous operation at ambient temperatures up to 104°F (40°C). It can be operated at temperatures ranging from 5°F (15°C) to 122°F (50°C) for short periods. Factors such as fuel BTU content, ambient temperature, altitude, and engine conditions can affect the maximum wattage and current. Maximum power decreases about 3.5% for each 1,000 feet above sea level and about 1% for each 10°F (6°C) above 60°F (16°C) ambient temperature.
4. What safety measures should be taken when handling the generator's gasoline?
expand_less
expand_more

Step 1: Turn off the generator engine and allow it to cool for at least 2 minutes before removing the gasoline cap. Loosen the cap slowly to relieve pressure in the gasoline tank.

Step 2: Only fill or drain the gasoline tank outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

Step 31: Do not overfill the gasoline tank. Leave space for fuel expansion.

Step 4: If gasoline spills, wipe the spilled gasoline from the unit or wait until it evaporates before starting the engine.

Step 5: Keep fuel away from sparks, open flames, pilot lights, heat, and other ignition sources.

Step 6: Regularly check fuel lines, tank, cap, and fittings for cracks or leaks. Replace if necessary.

Step 7: Do not light a cigarette or smoke.

Step 8: Do not pump gasoline directly into the generator at the gas station. Use an approved container to transfer the gasoline to the generator.

5. How do I connect the generator to my home?
expand_less
expand_more
Most of HEOMAITO generator models are compatible with an interlock kit, interlink, or 2 pole manual transfer switch. Inverter generators will require 3 pole transfer switch. Please see a local certified electrician for the best transfer switch option for your needs.
6. What steps can I take to reduce the noise of my generator?
expand_less
expand_more
HEOMAITO prioritizes noise reduction in its generator design, focusing on characteristics such as being lightweight, portable, and producing low noise levels. Our generators feature oversized mufflers that effectively minimize noise output. We advise against using third-party muffler silencers for noise reduction, as such modifications may void the warranty and contravene emission regulations.
Generator Maintenance Questions

1. What should I do if my generator malfunctions?
expand_less
expand_more

Firstly, refer to the product manual and follow the troubleshooting steps provided. Sometimes, the issue might be resolved through simple steps.

If you are unable to resolve the problem on your own, it's recommended to contact our customer service team. They will provide you with solutions or further guidance.

After our customer service understands your issue, they might suggest scheduling a repair at one of our authorized service centers. They will arrange for skilled technicians to repair your generator.

2. How frequent do I need to perform maintenance on my generator?
expand_less
expand_more
The maintenance schedules can vary between our generator models, but all models will have an hour or lifetime hour intervals required for maintenance. Please see your specific generator manual under the "Maintenance schedule" section for more details.
3. How to maximize the lifespan of your generator?
expand_less
expand_more
We recommend running your generator at least once a month for 20 to 30 minutes. Start the generator according to the instructions and plug a small load in to make sure the outlet is producing electricity. If you do not run it often, it will greatly shorten the generator’s lifespan and void the warranty.
4. How to draining or changing the engine oil?
expand_less
expand_more
Change the oil according to the recommended maintenance schedule.Change the oil MORE OFTEN if operating under heavy load or high ambient temperatures. It is also necessary to drain the oil from the crankcase if it has become contaminated with water or dirt. Changing the oil when the engine is warm allows for complete drainage.
5. How should I do the short-term storage for 30-60 days?
expand_less
expand_more

Step 1: Move the main breaker to the off position.

Step 2: Allow the generator to run for 3-5 minutes.

Step 3: If running on propane or natural gas simply turn off the fuel source. If running on gasoline shut the generator off by moving the fuel valve to the "off" position and allowing the generator to stall out.

Step 4: Turn the key switch or rocker switch to the off position; or if your generator has a push button start, turn the battery switch to the off position.

Step 5: Add fuel stabilizer and store the generator. Please note do not obstruct any ventilation openings & keep the generator in a cool dry area.

6. How should I do the long-term storage for over 60 days?
expand_less
expand_more

Step 1: Move the main breaker to the off position.

Step 2: Allow the generator to run for 3-5 minutes.

Step 3: If running on propane or natural gas simply turn off the fuel source. If running on gasoline turn the generator off by moving the fuel valve to the "off" position and allowing the generator to stall out.

Step 4: Turn the key switch or rocker switch to the off position; or if your generator has a push button start, turn the battery switch to the off position.

Step 5: Fully drain the fuel tank.

Step 6: Drain your carburetor bowl.

Step 7: Remove the spark plug.

Step 8: Place 2 tablespoons of oil into the spark plug hole, and pull the recoil to lubricate the cylinder.

Step 9: Remove battery and place on separate trickle charger.

Step 10: Store the generator. Please note do not obstruct any ventilation openings & keep the generator in a cool dry area.
